SIAM: Institutional Admission and Enrollment System
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of the Institutional Admission and Enrollment System (SIAM) developed for the Don Bosco Fiscomisional Educational Unit. The system centralizes and automates the student admission process, including application management, quota administration, leveling courses, payment validation, and final enrollment. The solution is built using a monorepo architecture with NestJS as the backend framework, Next.js 14 for the frontend, PostgreSQL as the relational database engine, and Docker for containerization. A hierarchical role-based access control (RBAC) model with five privilege levels was implemented, along with authentication using JSON Web Tokens (JWT). The results demonstrate a functional, scalable, and secure platform that reduces administrative processing times and improves the traceability of the admission workflow.
